Parent volunteers are always needed. Registration and training are provided by the Pack for those who are interested in helping. If you'd like to help in any capacity, please contact the Pack Committee Chairman, Cubmaster or your son's Den Leader. All types of help are needed - driving for trips, assisting in Den Leader absence, etc. Remember that Cub Scout Packs don't exist without volunteer leadership.
Volunteer Opportunities
Assistant Cubmaster
Do you have an interest or experience in scouting, but don't know where to fit in? We can always put you to work as an Assistant Cubmaster. Roles vary, but generally help and support the Cubmaster and the Pack Committee in planning and carrying out the pack program.
Committee Members
(Committee Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Advancement Coordinator, Den Leaders, Cubmasters)
The Pack Committee provides support by taking care of records, finances, advancement, activities planning, membership, etc. Committee members are expected to attend training and attend monthly committee meetings to help plan the pack program. Most work can be split among several people into small jobs. All pack leaders are also encouraged to attend the monthly Licking District Roundtables (first Tuesday of each month) as often as possible.
Den Leaders/Assistant Den Leaders
Den leaders meet weekly (or less) for about one hour with a den of 6 - 8 boys from a specific age level. Tigers may meet once or twice monthly. Wolf and Bear scouts usually meet about twice a month. Webelos meet 3 to 4 times per month. The Den Leader determines time, day and location of meetings that is most convenient for him/her. Den Leaders attend training and monthly committee meetings. The more helpers the better!
ScoutParent Unit Coordinators
ScoutParent Unit Coordinators take the lead on coordinating activities and preparations for one of our major annual events. These are usually one-day events, and work is limited to short-term time frames (mostly one month or less). This is an important volunteer job that is low on time commitment! Possibilities include:
- Blue and Gold Banquet
- Pinewood Derby
- Outings Chair
Adult Registration
Adult leaders are required to register with the Boy Scouts of America and consent to a criminal background check. Registration fees for adult leaders are paid by the pack. The application can be downloaded here.
