How to Join Cub Scouts

To join Cub Scout Pack 42, Thornville, Ohio, the best place to start is to email the Cubmaster. You can also join us at our monthly Pack Meetings on the last Thursday of each month usually at the Thornville United Methodist Church, Lower Level. Check the calendar to double check this location for this months meeting. A boy can join Cub Scouts at any age and need not progress through all of the Ranks listed below. He will join his friends of his own age. The only requirement is that he must first complete the Bobcat Badge which can typically be done at the first Den Meeting he attends.

What Does it Cost?

Registration for membership in the Pack is $30.00 for a year. The Pack registration fee pays for registration with the Boy Scouts of America, unit insurance, Cub Scout Handbook, and helps to pay for the awards and supplies for each boy. An optional subscription to Boys Life magazine is available at discounted rate of $12 dollars per year. Total cost for registration fees, dues, and Boys Life would be $42 dollars per year. Financial assistance is available for families and packs if needed.

Boys must complete a registration form for the Boy Scouts of America. Click here for pdf version which can be printed then filled out. Depending on the activities, Den Leaders may ask for an activity fee to cover the costs associated with the particular activity. This may include craft supply fees, admission fees, or the like. These will be kept to a minimal and will be announced ahead of time. Some Pack events may also require an activity fee. Family events are usually the responsibility of those who choose to participate.
