Martha Ann Circle
The life of a woman today isn't really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in the New Testament. Like Mary, you long to sit at the Lord's feet...but the daily demands of a busy world just won't leave you alone. Like Martha, you love Jesus and really want to serve him...yet you struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy.
Then comes Jesus, right into the midst of your busy Mary/Martha life---and he extends the same invitation he issued long ago to the two sisters of Bethany. Tenderly he invites you to choose "the better part"---a joyful life of "living-room" intimacy with him that flows naturally into "kitchen service" for him.
As Mary and Martha these ladies serve the Lord by helping with all types of Mission projects.
The Martha Anna Circle no longer is active in our church but if you would like to start another phone or contact Pastor Gerri or the Church.
Dorcas Circle
A Woman of a Giving Heart
In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (which, when translated, is Dorcas), who was always doing good and helping the poor. About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room. Lydia was near Joppa; so when the decuples heard that Peter was in Lydia, they sent the men to him and urged him, "please come at once!" Peter went with them, and when she arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, eh said, "Tabitha, get up." She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. He took her by the hand and helped to her feet. Then he called the believers and the widows and presents her to them alive. This became know all over Joppa, and many people believe in the Lord.
The Dorcas Circle meets monthly and participates in mission projects throughout the year. If you would like to join or need more information phone Karen Finch at 740-246-4225.
