The duties of the Pastor Parish Committee include consulting with the pastor to help make his/her ministry effective. Develop and approve written job descriptions of staff members, counsel with the pastor and staff members on matters pertaining to their relationship with the congregation. Prioritize the use of each staff member's time, provide for informal and formal annual evaluations. Consult with the pastor on pulpit supply, travel expenses, vacations, etc.

There shall be not fewer than five and no more than nine lay members. No staff member or immediate family member of the pastor or staff may serve on the committee. PPR advises the District Superintendent whenever there is a pastoral change concerning the needs, hopes and vision of the church. PPR is responsible for hiring and firing of church staff.
